Hillsboro --Mrs. Ada Davis, 84, widow of Joseph Davis, died Sunday night in the Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis where she had been a patient since Saturday. Born Oct. 20, 1874, near Newtown, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Washington and Susan Rice. She married Mr. Davis in 1894. The husband died in 1929. A former resident of Hillsboro, Mrs. Davis spent most of her life in Fountain County. At the time of her death she was making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Robert Lorton, of Indianapolis. Surviving, besides the daughter in Indianapolis, are two other daughters, Mrs. Ferrol Westfall of New Ross and Mrs. Nora Cochran of New Richmond; three sons, Irvin Davis of Linden, Carl Davis of Covington, and Joseph Davis of Indianapolis, a brother, Fred Rice of near Crawfordsville, and nine grandchildren. The body was taken to the Crumley Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Arrangements for the services are incomplete.
